The #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Fool’s Gold romances invites you to visit Happily Inc., a wedding destination founded on a fairy tale

Sculptor Nick Mitchell grew up in a family of artists and learned from his volatile father that passion only leads to pain. As he waits on a new commission, he takes a day job as a humble carpenter at a theme wedding venue. The job has its perks—mainly the venue’s captivating owner, Pallas Saunders. Although he won’t let love consume him, for ecstasy with an expiration date, he’s all in.

Pallas adores Weddings in a Box. But if she can’t turn the floundering business around, she’ll have no choice but to cave to her domineering mother and trade taffeta for trust funds working at the family’s bank. Then when a desperate bride begs Pallas for something completely out of the box, her irresistible new hire inspires her. Nick knows she doesn’t belong behind a desk, and she knows in her heart that he’s right—where she really belongs is in his arms.

Fun, flirty new series This is the first in a new series, but I'm already in love with Happily Inc. Mallery brings her unique wit and style to us in this new town. It's sort of a spin-off of her Fool's Gold series in that Nick (and his brothers Ronan and Matthias) came from Fool's Gold. And though the town definitely has its own unique charm and personality (nothing at all like Fool's Gold), it still somehow feels warm and inviting and comfortable. I love the new cast of characters Mallery introduces here. Though Pallas is the heroine of this book, she has many, many friends that I look forward to getting to know better in future books. What I loved most about Pallas and Nick's story was how they both had demons to overcome when it came to love and relationships, and yet throughout the book--from page 1 when they first met--they were always supporting one another and building each other up. And we see that theme reflected back in every aspect of Pallas's life--with her friends, her family, and even her clients and coworkers. I can't imagine the research Mallery must have put in to get all the details for this book, from creating art in different mediums, to planning a wedding with unique food, drink, costumes, and decorations. This is a shining example of reading a story and being able to hear it and picture it as though a friend is just telling you about her life.Enjoyable start to a promising series This is the first book I've read by this author. I will definitely keep reading this series and may check out one or more of her others.I enjoyed: the deftly placed glints of humor in several character's dialogue and thoughts; the idea and treatment of Weddings In A Box (a business which undergoes some satisfying changes in the course of the story), and of the town of Happily Inc in general; the relationship that develops between the main characters; the personal growth of both those characters.Only complaint worth mentioning: there is somewhat more repetition than I cared for in the internal monologues of both characters -- not unrealistic, given how much people tend to trudge in mental circles, but not ideal in fiction. It left me uncertain whether the repetition was intentional or an editing shortcoming.
